Britec Computer Systems Becomes Corporate Sponsor For the London Knights 

It’s hockey time!  And Britec is thrilled to be part of the action with the London Knights this year as a corporate sponsor for the 2011-2012 hockey season.

So just who are the London Knights, you non-hockey fans might ask?  The London Knights are an aspiring junior hockey team that is based in London, Ontario, Canada.  This young team plays in the Ontario Hockey League which is one of the leagues of the Canadian Hockey League.

Let’s take a little bit of a historical look at our new team.  The London Knights have been a constant fixture in London since 1965 when they were originally known as the London Nationals.  The brand new John Labatt Centre (The JLC)became the Knights’ home in October, 2002; the arena is truly stupendous with a capacity of 9,090 — and that’s including standing room – and is the largest arena in Western Ontario. To celebrate the move into The JLC, they once again donned the green and gold uniforms that had been forsaken during their time under the owner, Doug Tarry, Jr.

The team has had a sold out season since moving into the John Labatt Centre with a waiting list and there is still a cap on season tickets due to the team’s popularity.  This season the Knights will be sporting their new updated colors in celebration of their 10th anniversary. To their credit, they have won many awards, the most notable being the Memorial Cup Champions in 2004-2005, the Wayne Gretzky Trophy as Western Conference Champions in 2005-2006 and winners of the Midwest Division trophy 2008-2010.

London Knights is community driven by sponsoring and promoting evenings dedicated to Canadian Troops past and present, Business Cares Food Drive, Teddy Bear Toss and the House of Pink Theme driven nights.  Britec Computer Systems is proud to be a corporate sponsor of the London Knights and will host their Corporate Night on Saturday, February 4 and announcing a Grand Prize consisting of a laptop, and Knights memorabilia including 4 play-off tickets.  Leading up to this event, Britec will be hosting 7 information nights during the Friday night hockey games.
