Fractional Controller
Note: This is a fractional (part-time) position with flexible hours. Candidates must be based in Alberta or Ontario.

Job Summary
The Fractional Controller is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy of financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls. This role combines hands-on accounting responsibilities with financial oversight, process improvement, and strategic support for management.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- CPA designation or equivalent experience preferred
- 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
- Experience in a Controller or senior accounting role
- Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency environments
- Strong background in financial reporting and reconciliations
Position Responsibilities
- Prepare reconciliation of the Bank
- Prepare reconciliation of Credit cards
- Prepare reconciliation of A/P sub-ledger.
- Prepare reconciliation of A/R sub-ledger.
- Ensure all Balance Sheet accounts are correct and balanced to actual.
- Prepare Month-end JEs.
- Produce Financial Statements for company and each Service Line (unaudited) for management by the 10th day.
- Prepare Y/E working papers for external accountants.

- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- High attention to detail with strong reconciliation skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of financial processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
- Technologically savvy and able to quickly learn new systems
- Experience improving processes and implementing controls
Working Hours:
Flexible, fractional hours based on business needs
Increased involvement during month-end and year-end cycles
Compensation:
This position offers competitive hourly or monthly compensation based on experience and scope.
