Track Commissions with the AR Commission Report

Track your commissions (and top salespeople) faster with the AR Commission Report

Sage 300 allows you to print a sales commission report coming from the Order Entry module, but if you need to track and pay commissions from overall sales (OE & AR transactions), you will need a report sourced from Accounts Receivable.

Our custom AR Sales Commission Report shows the commission based on the total AR Revenue.  The report will calculate the commission earned by each salesperson using the data from all AR transactions (Invoices, Credit Notes, Debit Notes, Interests).  The amounts are shown in functional currency.

To print this report, you need to navigate to the custom AR Sales Commission report shortcut added on your Sage 300 desktop which will normally be under Accounts Receivable -> A/R Transactions Reports.

The report user interface is shown below.

The report prints the following information.

  • Salesperson Code/Name
  • Customer Number
  • Customer Name
  • Document Number
  • Document Date
  • Commission Base (document subtotal)
  • Commission Rate (this is taken from the AR Salespersons setting) 
  • Commission Amount (calculated from commission base and rate)
  • Total Commission each Salesperson
  • Total Commissions for all Salespeople

In some cases, you may want to pay commissions for paid AR transactions only.  We have another variation of this report which will allows you to accomplish this.

The report interface is shown below.

The report prints the following information:

  • Salesperson Code/Name
  • Customer Number
  • Customer Name
  • Document Number
  • Document Date
  • Document Amount
  • Payment Date (the last payment date in case of partial payments)
  • Commission Base (total payments less taxes, the taxes are pro-rated for partial payments)
  • Commission Rate (this is taken from the AR Salespersons setting) 
  • Commission Amount (calculated from commission base and rate)
  • Commission totals for each Salesperson
  • Report Totals

The sample report output is shown below.

From the report preview screen, you also have the option to export these reports to excel which will allow you to run additional calculations for further data analysis or sort the data in a different fashion (such as by customer, commission amount and others).
