Sage 300 Data Exports for CRA Audits

An audit is not fun, but is a reality for many businesses. Using Sage 300, you can be empowered to pull all of the correct data as requested by CRA auditors… provided that Sage 300 is set up & configured properly.

Here are some tips from Britec on how to make your audit process easier and far less stressful.

Generally, the best practice steps are as follows:

  1. Identify what was asked by the CRA. In the past, we’ve been asked to provide database backups for the CRA. When your SQL server is being backed up, provide the CRA with a copy of the latest SQL backup, or from the day they have asked for.
  2. If you provide the latest backup without clearing the history, you may end up providing CRA with more information than they have asked for. It is important for this reason to clear the history and only provide the database for the years/period requested.
  3. Select the years of data that CRA has requested and perform a clear history from Sage 300 to clean the data.

Here are the instructions for the various reports asked for by CRA:

Bank Transactions

At Britec, we have SQL experts in-house. We can help you further remove any information that you would not like to provide to the CRA, and can confirm that you are only providing the data explicitly asked for.
