IC Contract Pricing Margin Report

Sage 300 provides useful Inventory Control (IC) analytical reports, the Selling Price/Margin Analysis report is the topic of this article.
This report is however showing the margin in terms of the item pricing. If you use contract pricing heavily in your system, there is no margin analysis report available based on this.

Britec’s Contract Pricing Margin report allows you to determine the profitability of various items based on the contract pricing.

To print this report, you need to navigate to the custom Contract Pricing Margin report shortcut added on your Sage 300 desktop which will normally be under Inventory Control -> I/C Price/Sales Analysis Reports.

The report user interface is shown below.

The report prints the following information.

  • Customer Name
  • Item Number
  • Item Description
  • Price List Code – this is the customer default price list
  • Location Code – this is the customer default location
  • Unit Price – this is based on how the contract pricing was setup (Customer Type Level, Discount Percentage, Discount Amount, Cost Plus a Percentage, Cost Plus Fixed Amount, Fixed Price)
  • Average Cost – if the average cost is zero, the most recent cost is used.
  • Margin%

From the report preview screen, you have the option to export this report to excel, which will allow you to further analyze and sort the data.
